In 2023, the bett1open presented by ecotrans Group went one step further in terms of the number of participants – at the time of the announcement, nine players from the current top 10 of the WTA world rankings alone were taking part. Among them was Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka, reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina and many other top athletes. Local hero Sabine Lisicki and newcomer Qinwen Zheng completed the star-studded field. The title went to two-time Grand Slam winner Petra Kvitova. The field of participants, peppered with names such as Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Maria Sakkari and Coco Gauff, almost read like the WTA world rankings. Belinda Bencic made it to the final again, this time facing Ons Jabeur. In a highly emotional final, Bencic had to concede early due to injury and give Jabeur - as she said afterwards - a well-deserved victory.
