The ISTAF INDOOR in Berlin's Mercedes-Benz Arena has been a regular date in the world of athletics for over ten years. An innovation this year: world-class para-sprinters will also be competing for the first time. Of course, seven-time world champion Johannes Floors will not be missing.

The line-up also includes superstar Malaika Mihambo and the reigning national German champion in the pole vault Bo Kanda Lita Baehre. Tickets are available from €20.60 at  tickets.schalke04.de.

The Biathlon World Team Challenge at Schalke celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023. bett1.de has been on board as a sponsor since 2018. We have been the eponymous main sponsor since 2021. As always, winter sports fans could look forward to a high-calibre field. Two teams competed for Germany: Benedikt Doll and Hanna Kebinger as well as Sophia Schneider and Roman Rees. In 2023, two-time European champion Gina Lückenkemper, Germany's world-class javelin thrower Julian Weber, discus thrower Kristin Pudenz and para-world champion Yannis Fischer were among those taking part. For the third time in a row, the world's best female tennis players played at the bett1open in Berlin. In 2023, the bett1open presented by ecotrans Group went one step further in terms of the number of participants – at the time of the announcement, nine players from the current top 10 of the WTA world rankings alone were taking part. Among them was Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka, reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina and many other top athletes. Local hero Sabine Lisicki and newcomer Qinwen Zheng completed the star-studded field. The title went to two-time Grand Slam winner Petra Kvitova. Jabeur takes Berlin title after injured Bencic retires

Top seed Ons Jabeur won her third career Hologic WTA Tour title after Belinda Bencic was forced to retire due to an ankle injury during the bett1open final. Bencic suffered an ankle injury in the final game of the opening set, and though the Swiss player continued for three more games, she stopped the match while trailing 6-3, 2-1. Read more ...

The second edition of the bett1 Open finally confirmed the world class of the Berlin tennis comeback. The field of participants, peppered with names such as Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Maria Sakkari and Coco Gauff, almost read like the WTA world rankings. Belinda Bencic made it to the final again, this time facing Ons Jabeur. In a highly emotional final, Bencic had to concede early due to injury and give Jabeur - as she said afterwards - a well-deserved victory. The International Stadium Festival Berlin (ISTAF) celebrated its 100th anniversary and bett1 was there as a sponsor. The athletics event attracted more than 20,000 people to Berlin's Olympic Stadium, and over 2 million watched the event live on TV. Exceptional javelin thrower Johannes Vetter was the first javelin thrower ever to celebrate his fifth ISTAF victory. Crowd favourite Gesa Krause won the 3,000-metre hurdles for the second time.
