As the title sponsor and namesake, we are an integral part of the bett1.de Biathlon World Team Challenge, one of the world’s biggest biathlon events. Every year, traditionally between Christmas and New Year, the VELTINS-Arena in Schalke is transformed from a football stadium into a winter arena, where ten mixed teams race and shoot for victory in front of a sold-out crowd of tens of thousands of spectators. The event is organised by the German Ski Association in collaboration with FC Schalke 04. The 23rd edition will take place on Wednesday, 30 December 2026. The date has been specifically rescheduled so that the athletes can travel directly from Gelsenkirchen to the first World Cup of the new year.
