Fitted Sheet 200×200 cm: It Doesn't Get Any Wider Than This
If you want the sheet to fit your mattress perfectly, you need a 200×200 cm fitted sheet for mattresses that are 200 cm wide. These elasticated sheets fit securely on 200×200 cm mattresses. Unlike classic sheets without elastic, they don't need to be re-tensioned after every night. So it's no wonder that today, at least in Europe, almost every sheet is a fitted sheet
Fitted Sheet 200×200 Cm – Cotton, but High Quality
Most fitted sheets measuring 200×200 cm are made primarily of cotton. However, not all cotton is the same: the type of cotton, fiber quality, and processing methods can result in very different end products. This results in fabrics that are not only thicker or thinner, but also smoother or rougher. A quality feature of woven fitted sheets is a high thread count, whereas for knitted fabrics such as jersey, it is the weight. This fabric weight is given in grams per square meter (g/m²). In addition to the all-rounder jersey, well-known cotton fabrics include the warming fabrics terry, flannel, and beaver, as well as the cooling satin.
Elastane for Maximum Elasticity
Most fitted sheets contain a small amount of elastane. It ensures high and long-lasting elasticity, allowing your 200×200 cm fitted sheet to fit securely and largely wrinkle-free on the mattress. It is only thanks to elastane that sizes ranging from 180 to 200 cm, such as the BODYGUARD® Jersey Fitted Sheet, are possible.
Waterproof Fitted Sheets 200×200 cm for Incontinence
The models often referred to as incontinence fitted sheets 200×200 cm usually have a waterproof polyurethane coating on the underside. This makes these fitted sheets both waterproof and airtight. For larger amounts of fluid, the additional use of an incontinence pad is recommended.
Ensure Washability at 60°C
Like all bedding items, a good 200×200 cm fitted sheet should be washable at up to 60°C. If you have a dust mite allergy, washability at a minimum of 60°C is essential, as dust mite allergens are only removed at this temperature. Even for everyone else, washing at 60°C is an effective way to kill germs. A fitted sheet that can be washed at 60°C needs a high-quality elastic band that remains flexible and retains its elasticity even after many washes at high temperatures. Washing fitted sheets at 95°C is not actually possible due to the elastic band – but it is also not necessary.
