The BODYGUARD® Anti-Cartel-Mattress beds a wide variety of body shapes well in any sleeping position. The mattress only yields in the places where pressure is created. Heavy body parts are relieved, lighter ones are supported. This enables an ergonomic lying position.
Two Degrees of Firmness in One Mattress
Apart from ergonomic lying, personal perception plays an important role in the feeling of lying comfortably. Some prefer to lie softer, others more firmly. The two degrees of firmness of the BODYGUARD® offer an innovative possibility of individualisation in hotel business. Let your guests choose between Germany's most popular degree of firmness medium firm and firmer. By simply turning the mattress over, you can switch between the two degrees of firmness at any time.
Developed for Mattresses: QXSchaum® Mattress Foam
QXSchaum® is a highly elastic mattress foam made of polyurethane (PUR). Unlike cold foam, QXSchaum® Mattress Foam was developed especially for mattresses. Its open-pored, uniform cell structure ensures ideal moisture transport, which considerably increases the lifespan of the mattress. Mattresses made of QXSchaum® Mattress Foam do not need to be rotated or flipped regularly, but can be used continuously on one of the two sides.
Materials Tested for Harmful Substances
Laboratory tests certify: the BODYGUARD® Mattress is a safe choice when it comes to health safety. By complying with the strictest guidelines, it has been certified by Oeko-Tex® (Test no. 17.0.21008 Hohenstein).
Easy Care & Fast-drying
The HyBreeze® Cover (100% polyester) can easily be removed in two parts and machine-washed at 60 °C. Within a very short period of time, the breathable 3D spacer fabric dries in the air. At night, the HyBreeze® Cover provides a pleasantly dry sleeping climate.
Lightweight, Easy to Handle
Many mattresses are advertised with a particularly high foam density. This is supposed to be a sign of quality and durability. The BODYGUARD® refutes this assertion. With a foam density of 35 kg/m³ on the medium firm side and 40 kg/m³ on the firm side, the BODYGUARD® is a real lightweight. The standard size 90 x 200 cm weighs just approximately 12 kg.
Why the BODYGUARD® Mattress Is Called Anti-Cartel
Adam Szpyt, founder of bett1.de, was looking for a good mattress for himself. While doing so, he discovered an obscure mattress market full of crazy prices that could not be explained by neither material nor production. His idea was born: good mattresses at reasonable prices. In 2004 he founded bett1.de, an online shop with direct distribution. When he is asked by established mattress manufacturers to increase prices, he resists and gets into a protracted conflict. He turns to the Federal Cartel Office – with success: several mattress manufacturers are fined with a total of 27 million euros for illegal price agreements.

The BODYGUARD® Mattress including the cover is approx. 18.5 cm high. The BODYGUARD® Box Spring Mattress, made from 100% solid foam, is approximately 28 cm high including the cover. In combination with the BODYGUARD® Topper you can gain about 4 cm in height and also provide an extra soft feeling of lying.
Yes, you can use the BODYGUARD® Mattress on a slatted frame as well as on a box-spring.
