The Premium Duvet Filling
The filling of the BODYGUARD® All-Season Duvet medium warm is made from PrimaLoft Bio®. This synthetic fibre is made from 100 per cent recycled polyester. PrimaLoft Bio® has been developed so that the fibres are more easily biodegradable than conventional polyester fibres.

How does
PrimaLoft Bio® works?
Washing and daily use cause tiny textile fibres to come loose. These normally remain in the environment as microplastics. Depending on environmental conditions, up to 93.8 per cent of PrimaLoft Bio® fibres are broken down.
PrimaLoft Bio® has been developed to make it easier for microorganisms to break it down biologically. The process is based on natural water-based decomposition (hydrolysis) and takes place where there are large numbers of bacteria, fungi and algae, such as in seawater, in sewage systems or on landfill sites. There, the microorganisms feed on the fibres and break down the long polymer chains into even smaller components. What remains are natural substances such as CO₂, methane, biomass and water.
PrimaLoft Bio® in Figures
The biodegradability of PrimaLoft Bio® fibres has been tested in four different environments:
- Landfill: 93.8% degradation within 646 days (conventional PET fibres: 1.1%)
- Seawater: 88.5% degradation within 2,313 days (conventional PET fibres: 4.3%)
- Sewage: 85.5% degradation within 1,213 days (conventional PET fibres: 0.9%)
- Soil: 88.1% degradation within 973 days (conventional PET fibres: 0%)
The tests were carried out by an independent laboratory in accordance with procedures standardised by ASTM International. ASTM International is an international standardisation organisation that publishes technical standards for goods and services. An all-season duvet with medium warmth (medium warm) is ideal for bedrooms with an average temperature of approx. 16–18 °C. It is perfect for well-insulated homes, living spaces with a constant temperature, and for transitional seasons.
Please follow the care instructions.
- Leave at least a hand's width of space in the drum.
- Only put one piece of laundry in the drum at a time.
- Use liquid mild detergent (1/3 of the normal amount).
- Spin at minimum speed.
- Tumble dry at low temperature.
- If necessary, dry in the air.
Shake out the duvet regularly and loosely fold it back after getting up. This allows moisture absorbed overnight to evaporate quickly and completely from the bed. Please air your bedroom regularly (cross ventilation) to prevent mold and mildew stains.
