Duvet 155x220 cm – the Comfort Size
A duvet 155x220 cm offers more room to move in both length and width than the German standard size of 135x200 cm. This means even tall people can sleep comfortably and cosily under it – from head to toe. In spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Who Is a Duvet 155x220 cm Suited for?
A duvet 155x220 cm is particularly suitable for anyone who is 180 cm tall or taller and wants to stretch out in bed without having to choose between covered shoulders and warm feet. The extra 20 cm in both width and length compared to the standard size of 135x200 cm makes this possible – for extra comfort while you sleep.
Benefits of A Duvet 155x220 cm
- keeps you reliably covered from head to toe in any sleeping position
- more freedom of movement under the duvet
- a luxurious, hotel-like atmosphere of comfort and relaxation
Buying a Duvet 155x220 cm: What to Look For
- Warmth rating: The warmth rating is often expressed as a number between 1 (very light) and 5 (very warm). But be aware: These ratings are not standardised and are therefore only comparable to a limited extent across different manufacturers. Always consider the type and weight of the filling as well.
- Filling material: Choose a lightweight, insulating and easy-care material. Modern fibre fillings made from high-quality polyester offer a contemporary, ethical alternative to traditional down.
- Cover material: A cover made from natural fibres such as cotton is gentle on the skin, breathable, easy to care for and antistatic. The latter is important to prevent static shocks when changing your bed linen.
- Testing for harmful substances: For peace of mind while you sleep, it is good to know that your bedding textiles are free from harmful levels of substances that could affect your health. The Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 label, for example, provides this assurance.
- Matching bed linen: A duvet 155x220 cm is larger than the standard size. Check whether your existing duvet covers fit or whether you need to buy new ones.
Down Duvet 155x220 cm? Down with the Down!
Down duvets 155x220 cm are considered a classic bedding choice, but can now be seen as outdated. The fine, radiating branches of soft down feathers trap particularly large amounts of air. These pockets of air act as insulation and help retain body heat. The down of ducks, geese and other birds naturally protects them from cold and moisture.
Today, it is possible to replicate these practical properties of down almost perfectly, e. g. by using high-quality polyester fibres. Unlike down duvets, duvets with these types of fibre fillings can be safely washed in the washing machine.
BODYGUARD® duvets are filled with fluffy fibres made from 100% polyester. They keep you at a comfortable temperature and feel soft, offering either a light, airy feel or plenty of cosy volume to snuggle into, depending on the filling weight. And the goose gets to keep its down.
Summer Duvet 155x220 cm: Lightweight Comfort
A summer duvet 155x220 cm typically has a low filling weight and provides relatively little insulation. This makes it ideal for giving you a cosy, comforting feeling even in warm temperatures.
Winter Duvet 155x220 cm: For Snuggling Up When It’s Cold
The benefits of the comfort size 155x220 cm become particularly apparent with a winter duvet. A winter duvet 155x220 cm offers plenty of room to snuggle up and get comfortable. Winter duvets contain the most filling material of all duvets and provide a high level of insulation.
The BODYGUARD® Winter Duvet warm is a so-called duo duvet. It consists of two individual duvets stitched together, with an air pocket between them providing an additional layer of insulation. For cosy, warm sleeping comfort during the colder months.
All-Season Duvet 155x220 cm: The All-Year-Rounder
If you don't want to change your duvet twice a year, an all-season duvet 155x220 cm or a four-season duvet 155x220 cm could be a good option. A typical four-season duvet 155x220 cm consists of two separate duvets that can be joined together using press studs. Depending on how much warmth you need, you can use either the thinner or the slightly thicker duvet, or combine both to create a winter duvet.
If that sounds like too much effort, an all-season duvet 155x220 cm might be a better choice. If you need a moderate level of warmth throughout the year and tend neither to sweat excessively nor to feel cold easily, the BODYGUARD® All-Season Duvet medium warm is just right for you. It is also an excellent choice for the milder months of spring and autumn.

The standard size of 135x200 cm is generally sufficient for adults up to around 180 cm tall. If you're taller or simply prefer a little extra room under your duvet, a duvet 155x220 cm is a better choice. If you like sharing your duvet, you could also opt for a size of 200x200 cm or 200x220 cm.
That depends on whether you want your duvet to hang over the edges of your bed and by how much. An overhang can give a made bed a neat, stylish appearance. However, keeping your bed made all day is not recommended for hygiene reasons, as your mattress should be allowed to air out daily. Your height should be your main consideration: if you're up to around 180 cm tall, a duvet 200 cm long is sufficient. If you're taller, a duvet 220 cm long may be a better choice.
Your bed linen should always be the same size as your duvet. For a duvet 155x220 cm, you'll therefore need a matching bed linen 155x220 cm. Keep in mind that these measurements are always nominal dimensions. The actual dimensions may vary slightly.
