- Durability: For particularly heavy use – e.g. frequent washing or shared use by children and pets – we recommend a robust material with a high grammage of 200 g/m² or more.
- Seals and certificates: For products such as bed sheets, which are designed for intensive skin contact, you should ensure that the material has been tested for harmful substances. Certificates such as Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 test for harmful substances and ensure compliance with limit values.
High elasticity for greater flexibility
Thanks to the elastane, a 200x220 cm fitted sheet often fits similar mattress sizes such as 180x220 cm or 200x200 cm. Fitted sheets 200x220 cm: What role does the height of the mattress play?
The height of your mattress is an important factor when looking for the right fitted sheet 200x220 cm. While a normal height mattress such as the BODYGUARD® Anti-Kartell-Matratze® has a height of approx. 18.5 cm, a combination of box spring mattress and topper often requires a pocket depth and elasticity that exceeds that of a normal sheet. In such cases, we recommend purchasing a 200x220 cm fitted sheet with a deeper pocket depth for box spring beds, such as the BODYGUARD® Fitted Sheet Extra Deep with a pocket depth of 50 cm.
The BODYGUARD® Jersey Fitted Sheed with a pocket depth of around 30 cm is suitable for standard mattresses and also offers extra space if you want to use a topper on your mattress.
Fitted sheets 200x220 cm – other quality features
A high-quality 200x220 cm fitted sheet should have an appropriate fabric weight. Fabric weight, measured in grams per square metre (g/m²), indicates how dense and substantial the material is. If you plan to base your purchase decision on such certifications, it is advisable to review their criteria and credibility.
That depends on the pocket depth of your fitted sheet. The combination of the BODYGUARD® Anti-Kartell-Matratze® and BODYGUARD® Topper, for example, has a total height of approx. 22.5 cm. With the BODYGUARD® Jersey Fitted Sheet, you are on the safe side. For box spring mattresses with toppers, we recommend a fitted sheet with extra deep pockets, such as the BODYGUARD® Fitted Sheed Extra Deep
Mattresses longer than 200 cm are considered oversized, so you will need an oversized fitted sheet. The BODYGUARD® Jersey Fitted Sheet 180–200x220 cm is suitable for normal height mattresses 200x210 cm and 200x220 cm. The BODYGUARD® Fitted Sheed Extra Deep in 180–200x220 cm is suitable for box spring mattresses in these sizes.
In Germany and Europe, king size usually refers to a mattress of 200x200 cm. For king-size beds, appropriately-sized king-size bedding is recommended. King size double duvets start at 240x220 cm, single duvets at 155x220 cm.
