We have been involved in the Berlin WTA 500 tournament at the Steffi Graf Stadium of the LTTC “Rot-Weiß” Berlin right from the very start – or, to be more precise, right from the very first idea. In 2020, when the professional tours around the world came to a standstill, we brought the bett1ACES – a high-calibre exhibition tournament on grass – to Berlin, thereby kick-starting the return of world-class tennis to the capital. From 2021, this became a permanent WTA tournament, which we supported as the main and title sponsor under the name bett1open until 2023.
Since 2024, we have remained loyal to the tournament and thus continue to be part of the inner circle of partners, directly behind the title sponsor. For us, the focus remains firmly on the sport: world-class women’s tennis on grass, right in the heart of our home city, featuring players from the world’s top ten. In recent years, Ons Jabeur, Petra Kvitová, Jessica Pegula, Markéta Vondroušová and, in 2026, Linda Nosková, amongst others, have claimed the title here.
Our aim goes beyond professional tournaments: we want to make tennis a sport for the masses. Through our ‘Tennis macht Schule’ initiative, which we launched in 2021 in partnership with the Berlin-Brandenburg Tennis Association and the Berlin Senate, we have therefore equipped more than 200 primary schools in Berlin and Brandenburg with a full set of tennis equipment. Each bett1 barrel contains twelve rackets, four small-court nets, 200 balls and teaching materials, as well as training courses for teachers. In this way, we bring the sport directly to the children, regardless of whether there’s a racket in the cupboard at home or not.
BOSS OPEN Stuttgart
We are an active Premium Partner at the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart and regularly renew our commitment. The tournament is organised by e|motion sports GmbH, the team we have been working with since the bett1ACES 2020 and our years organising tournaments in Berlin. Over the years, this long-standing partnership has developed into a shared tennis portfolio.
The tournament looks back on a history spanning over 120 years and, as an ATP 250 grass-court tournament, is now considered one of the key stops on the road to Wimbledon. It is held every June at the TC Weissenhof grounds, with the 48th edition taking place in 2026. Year after year, top international players take to the courts there: Ben Shelton won the 2026 final against the previous year’s champion, Taylor Fritz; prior to that, the list of winners included Marin Čilić, Matteo Berrettini, Frances Tiafoe and Jack Draper, as well as regular appearances by top German players Alexander Zverev and Jan-Lennard Struff.
For us, this commitment is the logical continuation of our long-standing involvement in German tennis, which we also demonstrate at the Berlin Tennis Open and through the “Tennis macht Schule” initiative. Our focus is always on the same principle: proper recovery and sporting performance go hand in hand. In this way, we remain a partner for world-class tennis in Stuttgart too.
Tennis macht Schule: Tennis goes to School
We want to make tennis a popular sport and have already equipped 200 Berlin elementary school with tennis equipment as part of the “Tennis macht Schule” project. Next serve to follow.
We are also active in tennis beyond Germany’s borders: we are a Gold Partner at the Mallorca Championships in Santa Ponsa. It is the only ATP grass-court tournament in Southern Europe and is traditionally held in June at the Santa Ponsa Tennis Academy, shortly before the Wimbledon Grand Slam. Renowned players have claimed the title there in recent years, including Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Tallon Griekspoor and, in 2026, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, for whom it was the first title of his career.
For us, the tournament fits well into our tennis portfolio: as with the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart and the Berlin Tennis Open, the focus here is on world-class tennis on grass, combined with the Mediterranean atmosphere of the Balearic Islands. Our aim is to gradually raise the profile of our involvement in tennis beyond our home city of Berlin.
