Bed Linen 135×200 cm: The Bestseller

Bed linen 135×200 cm is the most popular size for bed linen in this country. This is mainly because a 135×200 cm duvet comfortably fits one person. In double beds, the bed linen is therefore often doubled up. At least if both sleepers are not big fans of a duvet.

You can easily determine the right size of duvet for you:

  • The duvet should be about 20 cm longer than you are. Bed linen measuring 135×200 cm is therefore suitable for anyone up to 1.80 m tall. For taller people, bed linen with a length of 220 cm is recommended. This is the longest standard length available for bed linen and duvets.
  • The wider the person sleeping, the wider the duvet. A width of 135 cm usually offers people of average build sufficient freedom of movement. People with a wider circumference may benefit from a 155×220 cm duvet.

Summer Bedding 135x200 Cm vs. Winter Bedding 135x200 Cm

Depending on the season, bed linen made from different fabrics and weaves can be more or less comfortable. In summer, smooth surfaces simply feel cooler on the skin. Linen or satin bed linen is particularly popular on warm nights. Both fabrics are quite airy, absorb moisture well and release it quickly.

In the colder months, roughened surfaces feel cosy. In addition, uneven fabrics create more air pockets that store heat. Soft and fluffy fabrics such as beaver or flannel are therefore the most popular choices for winter bedding.

Bed Linen 135×200 Cm vs. Horse Blanket 200x200 cm

Bed linen 135×200 cm offers enough space for one person, but the size may also be interesting for couples.

Advantages of single duvets over double duvets:

  • They are easier to handle.
  • They are easier to put on.
  • You can stretch your arms and legs out on both sides of the duvet.
  • Each person can move around freely without disturbing the other's sleep.
  • Each person can make the bed according to their own taste and comfort.

135×200 cm bedding has an additional advantage for people with children: when folded lengthwise, the bedding fits easily into standard 100×135 cm children's bedding.

Buttons or Zip?

Should your 135x200 cm bed linen be fastened with a zip or buttons? Button fastenings are the classic option. Depending on the material, they can be a real eye-catcher. However, some people find 135x200 cm bed linen with buttons more complicated to use than 135x200 cm bed linen with a zip. In poorly made bed linen, the buttons can also tear off quickly. However, a button can be sewn back on more quickly than a new zip can be inserted. So when it comes to repairs, buttons have the edge. On the other hand, 135x200 cm bed linen with a zip is much quicker to put on and stays closed even on restless nights.

International Popularity of 135×200 cm Bed Linen

Bed linen measuring 135×200 cm has become the most popular size, especially in Germany. Other sizes are in demand in other countries. The most popular size in Austria is 140×200 cm bed linen. An even more comfortable size has become popular in Switzerland. There, 160×210 cm bed linen is the best seller. In general, covering yourself with a quilt wrapped in bed linen is considered the ‘Nordic style’. In countries with a milder climate, covering yourself with a top sheet is also common. This keeps you comfortably cool even on tropical nights. In winter, the warmth of the top sheet is enhanced with a wool blanket.

The best 135x200 cm bed linen depends primarily on your preferences. You need to feel comfortable with the material. If you sweat a lot, for example, a particularly absorbent and breathable fabric is advantageous. Different bed linen feels more comfortable depending on the season. Smooth satin is ideal for summer bed linen, while many people prefer cosy flannel for winter bed linen.

Different materials can be processed into different fabrics for the manufacture of bed linen. Cotton is very popular and functional. The fabric is easy to care for, breathable and characterised by its high absorbency. Depending on how it is processed, cotton bed linen is suitable for every season, for example as cotton flannel for winter or cotton satin for summer.

How often you should wash your bed linen depends on how often you use it. You should not stick to excessive time frames, as every wash cycle also consumes resources and harms the environment. If you tend to sweat more, you should wash your bed linen more often – this naturally varies depending on the season. If you have a dust mite allergy or if animals sleep in your bed, you should also change your bed linen more often.
